People tend to avoid certain movies because they lack subtitles. Finding the proper subtitles for specific movies can be challenging. You may have to download and try countless subtitles until you find the ones that are in perfect sync with the video playback. InqScribe offers a simple and straightforward solution for such situations. The application is designed for transcribing videos, taking notes and much more. You can use it to create and export your own subtitles in a comfortable manner.

The software is available for Windows and Mac platforms. It comes in a small package and it can be installed fast. InqScribe does not require powerful hardware and you won't have to meet any special demands, like additional drivers or services.

Media files can be loaded from local folders or from URLs. Once you load a video or audio file, you can play it forwards or backwards, on the left side of the interface, where you can also increase or decrease the playback speed and adjust the volume or balance. While playing a video or audio file, you can type anything you want on the right side of the interface. You can transcribe dialogs, type notes and so on.

InqScribe's key feature is the fact that it allows you to perform any action via keyboard shortcuts. In other words, you can transcribe an entire movie, without touching the mouse. Furthermore, the software can help you configure a foot pedal. You can assign various actions, like playing or pausing the movie, rewinding and so on.

You can also insert time stamps, while transcribing a media file, if you wish to indicate the moment in which a certain event occurs. Like all actions, inserting a time stamp can be done by using a keyboard shortcut. Clicking an inserted time stamp will take you to its corresponding point in the video's timeline. It is also possible to customize transcripts, by selecting a different font, size, margins and so on. When your work is complete, you may export it in various formats, including HTML, plain text, XML, Subscript format and many more.
